Warning Signs of Soul Burn-Out!

Give your soul a vacation. It’s always there, doing important things in the background for our mental and emotional well-being: our soul. It is immortal and might have already been around the planet countless times. It’s still present when our earthly existence is over and acts independently of time and space. Given these facts, we might actually get the idea that nothing bad can happen to our soul. But immortal does not mean indestructible. Our soul can also suffer, and badly. In this article, we'll show you signs that you urgently need to give yours a break.

1. Physical exhaustion becomes a permanent condition.

The interaction between soul and body is no longer a secret. However, we only really take notice of it when we are totally physically exhausted, especially when there is no obvious reason for it. The cause of such debilitation may lie in our psyche.

2. Laughter no more.

When was the last time you had a belly laugh? Can you still remember it, or has it been a while? Laughter is not only free medicine for the body and mind, but also a reliable indicator that we are balanced and content, ideally even happy.

3. Who am I?

When we lose ourselves, it is mainly because our soul has become porous, like a leaky boat. It then no longer protects and guides us the way it used to. The connection to it feels like a radio signal with constant static.

4. You want to hide from the world.

Withdrawal and isolation by choice are always a warning signal that something is wrong in our lives. Like wounded animals, we seek solitude to lick our wounds and hope for healing. If the world outside is just too much for you, it's because it's dark and empty inside right now.

5. Emotions rule you.

Emotions are important and natural. However, they always come along at the most inopportune moments and want to be heard. If these episodes are getting longer and longer and the intervals between them shorter and shorter, you are emotionally out of balance. Our soul keeps an eye on our emotional life. If it no longer manages to keep this bustling activity inside us halfway in check, it urgently needs help and support.

6. Nothing, absolutely nothing, can please you.

Here we are at a point that is already very close to depression. When nothing and no one can ignite a spark of joy in you anymore, it's high time for an intervention.

7. Anxiety and panic attacks haunt you.

When we are mentally out of kilter, negative emotions like fears and doubts exploit the power vacuum for their own purposes. Fears that we can keep in check during the best of times now have free rein. We are fearful and insecure and face more problems and challenges every day.

8. You feel like you've been anesthetized.

A life in a trance, in a waking coma, vegetating as if under strong sedatives. If these states represent your attitude towards life, quick action is indicated. This state of affairs means you no longer feel any connection, neither to yourself nor to the people around you.

9. Pain torments you.

Diffuse pain with no apparent physical cause almost always stems from our soul or heart. Neither has a lobbyist to speak for them. If they can no longer get through to us in the form of our intuition and gut feeling, our heart and soul have to fight harder to be heard, and this form of contact often ends in painful signals.

10. Your whole existence is repugnant to you.

You can't stand your reflection in the mirror, you hate your job, your everyday life and all the people around you are simply repugnant to you? Then your soul is experiencing a state of emergency that you wouldn't wish on your worst enemies.

11. Fear is the answer to everything.

Everyday life with a battered soul becomes critical when we can no longer see a way out of the misery. Fear paralyzes us and blocks any chance we have of improving the situation. Every option looks like pitfall, at least this is the feeling that sheer fear constantly inspires in us.

12. You are at a loss for words.

Exhaustion of the soul is a holistic state that comes very close to lethargy. We are then not even able to describe in words how we feel and what could help us.

13. Your life feels wrong.

When our soul has been affected, no state of being is pleasant anymore. We constantly feel like we are in the wrong movie or like the famous cuckoo's offspring in a strange nest. An inner turmoil throws everything out of balance. We are like passersby in our own lives who do not feel welcome.

14. Never before have you been so alone.

If the connection to our inner selves is missing, it is also missing on the outside. When we can no longer feel ourselves, no companionship in the world is helpful or able to bring us out of this low. You are as alone as a person can be, even if you are surrounded by hundreds of people.

15. Where does all this lead?

Our soul has many functions in our lives. One is to be the silent autopilot that constantly stays in the background and points us in the right direction. If this interaction is disturbed, we feel disoriented and see no goal worth striving for.

16. More and more often you willingly let yourself be exploited.

Our soul also acts as a protective shield from the outside world. When it has gaps or has lost its radiance, doors open to external assault. You are too weak to defend yourself. Instead, you allow others to harness you for their own purposes and exploit you shamelessly.

17. You lack any motivation.

This actually follows from the previous points. Our motivation has reached absolute zero when the divine spark within us is reduced to but a glimmer. What used to spur us on to peak performance has lost its verve. Now we need all energy reserves just to survive this low point.

Today’s Conclusion

Your soul fire needs to burn again. Just as our body and intellect need phases of rest and recuperation, so does our soul. It is certainly robust, but a life in the fast lane can also be hard on your soul in the long run. Ideally, we should not let it get to the point where our fire goes out and we feel dead and abandoned inside. Just as we listen to our heart, we should also pay more attention to our soul. It may be immortal, but it is not indestructible.
