7 Spiritual Places With the Strongest Energy Fields

History carved in stone. Many places of power that we still know and revere today have existed for thousands of years. The inhabitants of the early advanced civilizations around the world were outstanding astronomers, mathematicians, builders and architects. They lived and built in harmony with nature and in honor of the gods, whom they worshipped and wished to be gracious to. They were more than aware of the importance of nature for the well-being of us humans. The logical consequence of this respectful attitude for their religious practices, from cultic rites to the construction of temples, was that a natural phenomenon was always the inspiration for it. The winter or summer solstice played just as important a role as healing springs, orientation by means of constellations or the four points of the compass. In any case, places of power have one thing in common throughout the history of the world: their construction was never the product of pure chance or whim. The fact that this phenomenon is not locally limited, but can be found worldwide, can be impressively proven by countless examples even today. In this article we present you the top 7 of the most famous power places.

1. Stonehenge in England.

Probably the most famous and best documented megalithic circle stands near the small English town of Salisbury in the county of Wiltshire. The imposing stone circle is dated by archaeologists to about 3100 BC. Research teams now believe that Stonehenge is part of a larger cultic context with smaller sites scattered throughout England. Countless theories surround the original meaning and use of this structure, which must have required not only an enormous amount of physical strength, but also meticulous planning. However, scientific evidence is still lacking, which is why Stonehenge will probably be able to successfully guard its secrets for some time to come. But it is a fact: In the early morning hours of the midsummer day, the sun appears exactly above the so-called heel stone, which forms the imposing center of the construct. This very special sunrise immerses the entire sanctuary in a fascinating, almost mythical play of light and shadow. The theory that Stonehenge originally served as a kind of prehistoric calendar is therefore most likely to have been accepted. Like so many places of power, the venerable Stonehenge has since fallen victim to shameless tourist exploitation. But not even that could take away from this truly magical place its palpable metaphysical energy. Even in the midst of huge crowds, even skeptical and less spiritual people can sense its power and majesty.

2. The Easter Islands in the South Pacific.

Even more mysterious than Stonehenge is the story of the impressive stone figures on Rapa Nui, known colloquially mainly as Easter Island. It is part of a group of islands in the South Pacific and has successfully kept its secrets even with the help of the latest technical methods now available to modern archaeology. To this day, not a single truly conclusive theory has been put forth as to how these megaliths were once erected and, more importantly, by whom. Originally there are thought to have been more than 1000 of these Moai on the island.

3. Uluru Plateau or Ayers Rock in Australia.

The conquerors called it Ayers Rock, the indigenous people of Australia have known this mountain for centuries under the name Uluru. It is located in the middle of the desert of the Northern Territory and with its 350 meters of altitude is actually more hill than mountain. But its characteristic shape and the bright orange-red sand give an idea of its mystical power even from a distance. For the aborigines Uluru is sacred, it also has a special meaning in their legendary Dreamtime tales. Numerous rock paintings in the caves at Uluru refer to the long history of this power place. The magical play of colors, which is completely different depending on the current position of the sun, confirms the power place Uluru every day anew.

4. Machu Picchu in Peru.

Probably the most famous city of the Incas, it was built in the fifteenth century AD at an altitude of over 2400 meters. In its heyday, about 1000 inhabitants lived there. About 200 stone buildings can still be admired there. The highlights are the Intihuatana sundial and the so-called water mirror, in which the firmament of the sky is reflected on the earth. Machu Picchu owes its importance today more to the architectural masterpiece of its builders than to cultic theories. Nevertheless, this place still takes its viewer's breath away, which is certainly not only due to the low oxygen content of the air.

5. The Bosnian Pyramids.

Anyone who thinks that such structures can only be admired in Egypt and South America should definitely take a trip to the area around the town of Visoko in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Years of scientific disputes, however, could finally clarify that these formations, clearly perceivable as pyramids, originate neither from extraterrestrials nor from a hitherto unknown early advanced civilization. This impressive landscape has formed over the course of the time from the deposits of sea and river elements and this already several million years ago. However, this scientific disillusionment does not completely take away the magic of the European pyramids. It is worthwhile and does not hurt to recharge your batteries once there.

6. Rila in Bulgaria.

There, too, a monastery still bears witness to the powerful spiritual influences to which this place was subjected over the course of time. According to legend, the spiritual master Beinsa Duno, the founder of the universal white brotherhood, received his wisdom in the Rila Mountains and passed it on to the people. The wonderful lakes in the area around Rila have a truly magical effect and still exude their power today. Numerous legends speak of the healing effects of the water and various spiritual experiences that local people have had time and again right up to modern times.

7. Socotra in the Indian Ocean.

If you are looking for flora and fauna of a very special kind, you will find it on this island or group of islands in the Indian Ocean. The landscape could come directly from another cosmos or have been beamed directly to our earth from a parallel universe. Those who like to associate spiritual energy with animism will have a truly mind-expanding experience on Socotra. More than a third of the approximately 800 plant species native to Socotra are found nowhere else in the world. Among the animal species, the situation is very similar. The relative isolation to which Socotra has retreated over the centuries is mainly responsible for this species richness. It is also what gave this magical island the nickname Galápagos of the Indian Ocean.

Today’s Conclusion:

Silent witnesses of history. It is actually no wonder that these magical places literally wrote history. But you don't have to go so far afield to find places of power with a historically significant story. Time and again, archaeological excavations in Christian churches unearth findings that point to religious use long before the advent of Christian religions. Pilgrimage churches in particular, located at exposed elevations, on hills or rocky outcrops, almost always have a pagan prehistory. Whether the reconstruction of these places of worship was intended to eradicate the predecessor cults in the truest sense of the word, or simply to make pragmatic use of the building materials already available, remains to be seen. The truth will probably be found somewhere in the powerful middle here, too. That's it for today.
